Some of the best ideas seem perfectly obvious. So when one of our favorite clients, LSI, called and asked us to take our super successful Serpentine Lighting fixture, and redesign it to utilize the new ultra-efficient LED lamps from Xicato, we were thinking, this is going to be a winner. There are some challenges in using LEDs like these. LEDs are famous for lasting a long long time, but you have to keep them cool; that’s why our engineers designed the fixture to maximize the contact area between the back of the LEDs and the aluminum fixture, and we developed a series of aluminum fins across the back of the fixture that get rid of the heat, and compliment the fixture’s signature design.
